Dr. John S. Nixon, Sr., is a retired minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who served for 45 years as pastor, theology professor, and conference administrator.
He received his BA in Theology from Oakwood University, his MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and his Doctor of Ministry degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. His dissertation explored the topic of worship.
During his pastoral career, he served eight churches across the United States. His administrative experience includes VP for San Gabriel Valley Churches in Southern California, Associate Ministerial Director for the North American Division, and Executive Secretary for South Central Conference in Nashville, TN.
Over the years, he’s written articles that have been featured in Message Magazine, The Adventist Review, Regional Voice, and American Behavioral Scientist. He’s authored one book (so far), Redemption in Genesis: The Crossroads of Faith and Reason, and is working on his second under the working title Beautiful Scars about how we can find redemption through Christ.
He is creator and host of “Hear Me Now” podcast, where he provides mentorship for young pastors and discusses compelling spiritual questions.
